Pre Processing Data Resampling, Projection, and Normalization

I am curious about the need to resample the rasters in running the RIOS preprocessing operation in order to get the downslope retention index, upslope source etc. When the rasters are resampled so that they all have matching cell sizes the preprocessor runs smoothly. When tried with non matching cell sizes the preprocessor seems to freeze. I resample to the size of the DEM using a majority filter so that the hydrologic accuracy can be maintained. All rasters are in the GCS WGS 1984 cooridnate system. The rasters that were specified to be normalized were normalized however not all were, do they need to be? Once the results are input into the RIOS Investment Portfolio there appears an error that says datasetunprojected encountered for the depth raster and the LULC raster.

    Hi Thomas -

    Theoretically, the pre-processor should handle resampling the other input rasters so they match the DEM (although you can do it yourself if you'd rather have control over the result.) However, the rasters all need to be in the same *projected* coordinate system (so the linear units are meters, like UTM), not a geographic coordinate system like WGS84.

    The preprocessor will also normalize the values, you do not need to do that.
